Students Carmen Al Masri and Yi Dai received a CCBS Opportunity Award with Drs. Jin Yu and Jing Zhang titled: “Connecting Oncogenic Transcription Factor Myc-Max Search Dynamics on DNA with its Genome Association Profiling.“
Dr. Jin Yu received the Oak Ridge Leadership Cimputing Facility (OLCF)’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) Award.

Dr. Jin Yu awarded NSF grant to study antiviral drugs as a cure for COVID-19
The project utilizes large-computer simulations to dissect how drugs like Remdesivir (RDV) traget RNA-dependent RNA polymerase from SARS-CoV-2 (or COV-RdRp).
Dr. Tim Downing received $3 million NSF grant for epigenetics research
Dr. Downing led a multi-school, joint grant with Drs. Elizabeth Read, Andrew Spakowitz, and Alistair Boettiger that seeks to investigate the dynamic nature of the epigenome with future relevance for cellular engingeering.
